Adult Novel: The Perfect Sister (formerly titled ‘Savannah Road’)

Therapist, Lola Espy, after guzzling one too many cocktails, hits a pedestrian while driving home on Savannah Road. In a moment of panic, she flees the scene. She can only imagine what her mother, Evelyn, will think.  She and her sister, Regina, have been brow-beaten and brainwashed since childhood by their mother’s constant reminder to allude trouble that could taint the family’s illustrious heritage in the Carolina’s.  Regina responded by getting pregnant as a teenager and then running away from home and changing her identity after her mother forced her to give the baby up for adoption.  

Until that night on Savannah Road, Lola believed that she was the well-adjusted one. But now she finds that nothing is more important than hiding the truth from her mother and upholding the family honor, even when the pedestrian dies, even when a witness to the accident starts making anonymous calls threatening to expose her. How far will she go to protect the family name? And how far will Regina go to exact revenge on the family who betrayed her?  Will either sister be able to forgive their mother—or themselves?  

The Perfect Sister is a domestic suspense novel set in Charlotte, North Carolina.
